The Cabin at Hollow Road Homestead

Rest at the end
of the road.

The guest room of the homestead. We are getting it ready now.
The cabin sits at the end of the hollow because we built our life at the end of a hurry. It’s a small cabin tucked into the quiet of our working homestead, nestled between two worlds, woods on one side and the homestead on the other. It’s a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and remember what an unhurried weekend feels like. Around you are the same rhythms that shape our family’s life: gardens that change with the seasons, chickens scratching nearby, evenings that grow quiet, and Fridays that welcome rest instead of rush. Come for a peaceful weekend. Leave with a glimpse of a different way to live. The cabin is simply where the story begins.

chapter one

Arrive at the Hollow

The drive in, the porch light on, a welcome basket on the table with things we grew, canned and baked. When it opens, you will text me when you turn off the highway, and I am the one who answers.

chapter two

Friday Evening

The propane fireplace catches on the first try, the candles are laid out, and the bread is from that morning. Everything you need for a slow evening is in the basket, and there is nothing to do with the night but let it get dark.

chapter three

Saturday Morning

Coffee on the porch rail, the light coming up through the trees, and nothing that has to be done today. The work was finished yesterday and the errands will keep until tomorrow. The hollow is loud with birds and not much else.

chapter four · slow afternoons
The creek running through bare winter woods with snow along the banks
rain on the roofline, a long soak in the claw-foot tub, and the woods doing nothing in particular
chapter five · around the homestead
The garden’s extras in season, the ladies out back, the girls will introduce you. The house book will show you where to wander.
A brown and grey laced hen standing in the grass in front of a small wooden coop
The ladies out back.
Young tomato seedlings newly planted in a raised bed of fresh timber
The garden’s extras are yours, in season.

Come rest at the end of the road.

Come for the cabin. Leave with a slower rhythm.

A plain word about where things stand: the cabin is not open yet. We are still finishing it, and we would rather take the time than hurry it. Leave your email and you will hear the day reservations open, before it is announced anywhere else.

Practical notes: getting here · kids and the hollow · checkout is simple, dishwasher on, trash bagged, door pulled shut.

Rest is commanded, friend. See you Friday.
